Hearing Aid Accessories – Assistive Listening Devices For Loan

Assistive listening devices are now available for loan from Atlantic County Library/Mays Landing, located at 40 Farragut Avenue. The devices are free to borrow for anyone with an Atlantic County Library System card, but can only be obtained from the Mays Landing branch.

Assistive listening devices are amplification systems designed specifically to help people with hearing loss in a variety of difficult listening situations. The library offers two types of systems: a personal FM system for use up to 150 feet, such as in a car, restaurant, or business meeting; and a wide area FM system for use in larger spaces, such as a concert, school play, or town council meeting. Both systems are portable and can easily be used with various types of hearing aids and cochlear implants and come with earbuds and headsets for those without aids or implants.

The assistive listening device borrowing program is made possible by a grant from the NJ Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to the NJ Library for the Blind and Handicapped, through its Deaf and Hard of Hearing Awareness Program.
